Get the AMD RX 580 driver

The RX 580 is a Polaris card, and AMD's main Adrenalin 26.10.1 list starts at Radeon RX 5000. AMD ships a separate release for it: Adrenalin Edition 26.5.2 for Polaris and Vega, dated May 21, 2026, for Windows 10 and 11 64-bit. Download it from AMD's Polaris and Vega release notes page.

Checked October 30, 2026 against the manufacturer's own pages.

Step by step

  1. Check the exact card

Device Manager, Display adapters. The name should read Radeon RX 580 Series or AMD Radeon RX 580. A hardware ID with DEV_67DF is the common RX 580. DEV_6FDF is the RX 580 2048SP.

  2. Do not use the main Adrenalin download

AMD's current main package, 26.10.1, does not list the RX 500 series as compatible. Look for the Polaris and Vega release instead.

  3. Open AMD's Polaris and Vega page

The 26.5.2 release notes page for Polaris and Vega lists RX 500, RX 400, RX Vega, Radeon VII and Radeon Pro Duo as compatible. Use its download link.

  4. OEM RX 580X cards: ask the PC maker

The ID list names RX 580X boards from specific PC makers. For a prebuilt PC, check the maker's support page first.

  5. Install and restart

Run the file as an administrator. Reboot afterwards, then open Adrenalin to check the driver version.

Why the RX 580 has its own release

The RX 580 is built on the Polaris design. In the public PCI ID Repository the common RX 580 shares device code 67DF with the RX 470, 480, 570, 590 and several X variants, under the chip name Ellesmere. A second code, 6FDF, marks the RX 580 2048SP and the RX 590 GME. That is a different board and the two codes should not be confused when you pick a driver.

AMD’s main Adrenalin release no longer lists Polaris. Its 26.10.1 compatibility list covers RX 9000, 7000, 6000 and 5000 series. For Polaris, AMD publishes Adrenalin 26.5.2 as a separate Polaris and Vega package, with its own release notes.

What the Polaris package covers

The notes list Radeon VII, the RX Vega series, Radeon Pro Duo, RX 500 and 500X, and RX 400 series cards, plus Radeon 600 series laptop graphics. The package holds driver version 23.19.25.01, which is an older driver base than the one in the main release. The file is around 654 MB, much smaller than the main package.

A known fix

AMD’s one listed fix in 26.5.2 is for an application crash in Apex Legends on RX 400 and 500 cards. If you had that crash on an older driver, the update is the fix. If your games run well on your current driver, you have little reason to chase the date.

Installing without trouble

AMD advises that when you go back to an older Adrenalin version you use the AMD Cleanup Utility. The same advice helps when you move from an old Radeon Software release to this one. Remove the old driver, restart, then install the 26.5.2 file. If a game then fails, check that the file you downloaded is the Polaris one and not the main release.

Questions

Is the RX 580 still supported?

AMD still publishes a release for it. The 26.5.2 Polaris and Vega notes, dated May 21, 2026, list RX 500 and RX 400 among the compatible products.

Why is my RX 580 missing from Adrenalin 26.10.1?

The 26.10.1 compatibility list starts at RX 5000. Polaris cards have their own, separate release.

Will 26.5.2 give me new features?

The only fix in its notes is for an Apex Legends crash on RX 400 and 500 cards. It is not a feature update.

Does it run on Windows 10?

Yes. The notes list Windows 10 64-bit version 1809 and later, and Windows 11 21H2 and later.
