For the GTX 1050 Ti, nvidia.com offers the GeForce Security Update Driver 582.78 (September 30, 2026), not a Game Ready driver. NVIDIA moved Pascal cards to security releases. Pick GeForce 10 Series, then GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, and Windows 11. Laptops use the notebook file.

Step by step

  1. Read the card name

Device Manager, Display adapters. You should see NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. A hardware ID ending DEV_1C82 is the desktop card.

  2. Open the GeForce 10 Series list

On nvidia.com/drivers choose GeForce, GeForce 10 Series, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and Windows 11. For a laptop pick GeForce 10 Series (Notebooks).

  3. Download the Security Update Driver

The top result is the GeForce Security Update Driver 582.78. Download it. The file is about 913 MB.

  4. Install over the old driver

Run the installer, choose Express and restart. Saved game settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel normally survive.

  5. Keep the maker's package as a fallback

If the card sits in a prebuilt PC or laptop, keep the maker's older driver on hand. It is the one to roll back to if something misbehaves.

What changed for Pascal

The GTX 1050 Ti is a Pascal card. NVIDIA’s own driver page explains that Pascal GPUs are no longer supported by Game Ready Drivers and receive a GeForce Security Update Driver instead. That driver addresses security problems and has the same purpose as the one your card has used before: it keeps the display working. The current build is 582.78, dated September 30, 2026. The two builds before it, 582.66 and 582.53, came out on June 16 and May 19, 2026.

The chip behind the card

The public PCI ID Repository lists the desktop GTX 1050 Ti as a GP107 chip with device code 1C82. A GTX 1050 3GB shares the chip at 1C83. Laptop versions use 1C8C, 1C8F for the Max-Q build and 1CCC. The same GP107 chip also drives workstation cards such as the Quadro P620, which belongs on NVIDIA’s separate RTX driver list.

What to expect from an old driver

A security release is stable, but it is not tuned for the newest games. If a title refuses to start, the first thing to check is the game’s own system requirements, and then the fix section of its publisher’s support page. Rolling forward to a Game Ready build is not an option for this card.

A common trap

A tool that says your driver is current may be looking at the wrong list. NVIDIA’s page, and the date shown on it, is the check. If your installed version is older than 582.78 and the card works fine, you can still update. If it already is 582.78, you are current.

Questions

Why is there no Game Ready driver for my GTX 1050 Ti?

NVIDIA says Maxwell, Volta and Pascal GPUs are no longer supported by Game Ready Drivers and receive a security update driver instead.

Will new games still run?

Many will, since the security driver is a mature build. But you get no game-specific fixes or new features, so a very new title may run worse.

Is a Studio driver still offered?

NVIDIA's list shows Studio 581.57 from October 14, 2025 as the last for this card.

Can I use a newer driver from a different branch?

Do not force one. NVIDIA's product list defines which package supports your card, and a package for another series may not install.
