Get the NVIDIA GTX 1650 driver
The GTX 1650 is a Turing card and still gets Game Ready drivers. On nvidia.com/drivers choose GeForce 16 Series, then GeForce GTX 1650. The newest is 621.01 (October 21, 2026). Laptops with a GTX 1650 use the notebook list or the laptop maker's package.

The short version
What to install and where it comes from. Every link goes to the manufacturer or Microsoft, never to a copy.

Step by step
Check it is a GTX 1650
Device Manager, Display adapters. The name may be GeForce GTX 1650, GTX 1650 with Max-Q Design or GTX 1650 Ti. Note the exact words.
Pick the desktop or notebook list
A desktop card goes under GeForce 16 Series. A laptop goes under GeForce GTX 16 Series (Notebooks), where NVIDIA lists GTX 1650 and GTX 1650 Ti.
Laptop first: the maker's page
Search your laptop model on the maker's support page. A graphics driver from there already includes the settings that switch between the Intel chip and the NVIDIA chip.
Install
Run the package and choose Express. Restart when the installer asks.
Set the GPU for your games
On a laptop, open Windows Settings, System, Display, Graphics, add the game and choose High performance so it uses the GTX 1650.
Why the GTX 1650 is in a good spot
The GTX 1650 sits in the GeForce 16 Series, which uses the Turing design without the ray tracing hardware of the RTX line. NVIDIA’s current Game Ready driver, 621.01, covers the 16 Series. That puts the GTX 1650 on the new side of a line that now runs through the GTX 10 series, where cards only receive security releases. A GTX 1650 owner can use the same package that newer RTX cards use.
One chip, many boards
In the public PCI ID Repository the desktop card is a TU117 with device code 1F82. The same chip also appears in the GTX 1630 at 1F83, and in a long list of laptop codes, among them 1F91, 1F92, 1F94, 1F96, 1F99, 1F9D, 1FD9 and 1FDD. A GTX 1650 Ti Mobile is listed at 1F95. If you buy a card second hand, the hardware ID shows which of these you really have.
Laptops that pair the GTX 1650 with an Intel chip
Most laptop GTX 1650 parts sit beside an Intel graphics chip. Windows can then run a program on either chip, and the choice may change after a driver update. Windows puts its own choice in Settings, System, Display, Graphics. Add the program, open Options and select High performance. A game that suddenly runs at a slideshow rate after a driver update is often just back on the Intel chip.
A fix for a stuck install
If the installer ends with an error and your screen is stuck at a low resolution, open Device Manager and look for a yellow mark on the display adapter. Right-click the adapter, choose Uninstall device, tick the option to delete the driver software if it appears, restart, and run the NVIDIA package again from a fresh download.
Questions
Is the GTX 1650 still supported?
Yes. NVIDIA lists the GeForce 16 Series, with the GTX 1650 and GTX 1650 SUPER, among the cards covered by Game Ready 621.01.
Do GDDR5 and GDDR6 versions use different drivers?
No. Both use the same TU117 chip family and the same package. The public ID list notes a GDDR6 board under the same 1F82 code.
Is the GTX 1630 the same card?
No. The GTX 1630 is a separate product with its own listing under code 1F83, even though it is built on the TU117 chip.
The driver installed but games use the wrong chip.
That happens on laptops with two graphics adapters. Set the game to High performance in Windows Graphics settings.
