Get the NETGEAR A6210 driver
NETGEAR's A6210 Software Version 1.0.0.39 page lists two installers: a full one with the NETGEAR utility and a standalone driver only. The page names Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista and XP, driver version 5.1.35.0, and does not mention Windows 11.

Step by step
Check the model
The adapter should read A6210 AC1200 WiFi USB Adapter on the box or label. Other NETGEAR adapters, such as the A6100 or A7000, use other software.
Open the NETGEAR knowledge page
Use the A6210 Software Version 1.0.0.39 page on kb.netgear.com. It shows both downloads and the install notes.
Choose full or standalone
The full package installs the driver and the NETGEAR utility. The standalone package installs only the driver, so Windows' own Wi-Fi menu handles connections.
Install before you plug in
NETGEAR's quick start guide says to install the software first and insert the adapter afterwards. Remove any older A6210 software before you start.
Use a suitable USB port
Plug the adapter into a USB 3.0 port on the PC itself. If it fails there, read the known issue about U2 mode in the host controller settings.
What the A6210 is
The A6210 is NETGEAR’s AC1200 USB Wi-Fi adapter. It plugs into a USB 3.0 port and adds dual band Wi-Fi to a desktop or laptop. NETGEAR publishes its drivers through knowledge base pages, one per software release, rather than one running download page. The newest release on NETGEAR’s site that we found is 1.0.0.39, and its page shows a last updated date of 07/07/2025. The page does not give a release date or file size.
The two packages
Each release has a full installer and a standalone installer. The listed file names are A6210_vv1.0.0.39.exe.zip and A6210_vv1.0.0.39-Standalone.exe.zip, and the install steps on the page use slightly different names, so read the page and not only the file name. Both hold driver version 5.1.35.0 for the Windows versions named. The release note says the WHQL driver was updated.
The USB controller issue
NETGEAR’s known issue concerns USB 3.0 host controllers from ETRON and ASMedia. The note says U2 mode must always be set in their settings. If your adapter drops or does not appear on one of those controllers, try a different USB port, and check the USB controller driver from your PC maker.
Questions
Does NETGEAR list Windows 11 for the A6210?
The 1.0.0.39 page names Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista and XP and does not mention Windows 11. Ask NETGEAR support if you need a confirmed Windows 11 driver.
Which installer should I pick?
The standalone one if you only want Windows to manage Wi-Fi. The full one if you want the NETGEAR utility as well.
What is the known issue?
NETGEAR's note says U2 mode must always be set in the ETRON and ASMedia USB 3.0 host controller settings. Check your USB controller settings if the adapter fails on one of those controllers.
Where did the older versions go?
NETGEAR keeps earlier versions such as 1.0.0.36 on their own pages. Version 1.0.0.36 listed driver 5.1.29.0, so 1.0.0.39 is a newer driver.
