Get the Logitech mouse driver

Logitech mice work in Windows with the built-in driver. For extra button settings, use Logi Options+ from logitech.com for office mice like the MX Master, or G HUB from Logitech G for gaming mice. Logi Options+ runs on Windows 10 or later.

Step by step

  1. Plug in the receiver or pair Bluetooth

Put the USB receiver in a port on the PC, or pair the mouse in Settings, Bluetooth & devices. Windows installs its own mouse driver.

  2. Check the pointer works first

If the pointer moves and the buttons click, no driver is missing. Extra buttons and DPI changes are the only things that need Logitech software.

  3. Pick the right app

Logitech office mice such as the MX Master line use Logi Options+. Gaming mice with the G label use G HUB.

  4. Download from Logitech only

Use the Logi Options+ or G HUB page on logitech.com or logitechg.com. Run the installer and sign in only if the app asks.

  5. Restart and assign buttons

Restart, open the app, select your mouse and set the buttons or DPI you want.

Built-in driver or Logitech app

A mouse is a standard HID device, so Windows needs no download to move a pointer or register clicks. Logitech software adds the rest: thumb buttons, gesture buttons, DPI steps, scroll wheel modes and per-app profiles. Logitech’s Options+ page says it customizes mice, keyboards, webcams, touchpads and more, and that Flow can work across multiple computers.

Which app belongs to which mouse

Options+ is the app for Logitech’s mainstream and MX products. G HUB is the gaming app, with LIGHTSYNC lighting control and game library features. The G HUB page lists a PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 among supported gear. If you are unsure, the model name on the mouse base tells you the family.

Receivers

Logitech’s wireless mice often use a USB receiver. The public ID list names the Unifying Receiver and the Logi Bolt Receiver as separate parts, both under Logitech’s vendor ID 046D. A receiver from one family does not pair with a mouse from the other family. Bluetooth skips the receiver altogether.

Version details

Logitech’s pages for these apps did not show a version, date or file size when we checked, so the table states only the supported system.

Questions

Do I need Logi Options+ to use the mouse?

No. Basic pointing and clicking work with Windows. The app adds options such as custom buttons and Flow.

Which mice does Options+ support?

Logitech's page lists examples including MX Master 4, MX Master 3S, Lift and Signature M650, and links to a full list.

Can both apps be installed?

Logitech sells them for different product families. Install the one your mouse is listed under, and check the app's device list before adding the other.

The receiver is not detected.

Try another USB port, away from a hub, then reconnect. Check Device Manager under Mice and other pointing devices and Human Interface Devices.
