How to install the driver for CH340 serial converter
- Confirm the ID. In Device Manager, right-click the device, open Properties, then Details, and pick Hardware Ids. The first line should start with
USB\VID_1A86&PID_7522. - Try Windows Update. Settings, Windows Update, Advanced options, Optional updates. Some serial chips get their driver here automatically.
- Check your PC maker. Enter your model or serial number on its support site and look under the device or board maker's downloads.
