How to install the driver for RTL8111/8168/8211/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller

  1. Confirm the ID. In Device Manager, right-click the device, open Properties, then Details, and pick Hardware Ids. The first line should start with PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168.
  2. Try Windows Update. Settings, Windows Update, Advanced options, Optional updates. Network drivers may appear here once another connection works, such as Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot.
  3. Check your PC maker. Enter your model or serial number on its support site and look under Networking or LAN.
